We went to Church today

One thing Teresa and I thought we would do more of while traveling, is visiting different churches.  Well, sorry to say, that has not really happened.

We are not too sure why.  It seems when Sunday rolls around, we are either on the move, or just unsure where to attend.

Fortunately for us, Ed and Marilyn had a real treat for us today.  We took the short drive to the San Juan Basilica in Bob and Janet's truck, where Teresa and I enjoyed a great service in a beautiful church.

One of the highlights of the service was the mariachi band, featuring the awesome instruments, and vocals of the musicians.

After church, we found out Ed had prearranged with two other couples to meet us for lunch.

One of the couples are friends of ours, Jim and Linda.  We met them at Colorado Springs, the same time we met Ed and Marilyn for the first time.  As you can imagine, some hugging ensued.

Jim and Linda - We missed you guys so much !

We were then introduced to Roger and Joyce, and I have to tell you these are two of the sweetest people you will ever know.  We promised them that we will visit with them again before we leave the valley.

Joyce and Roger - sweet as sugar !

I have said it a million times, and I will say it again.  RV'ers are the nicest people walking this great ol' earth !

We were so full from lunch that Teresa crashed on the couch, and I tried to walk off my full tummy.

I took a few pictures of our park, but it is overcast today, and some of the photos were a little dark.  I will try again another day.

However, I did get a shot of the orange trees planted throughout our park.  There are also grapefruit trees here.  You can pick what you can eat in one day ... nice touch.

I then wandered over to the pool and hot tub in our area of the park. That's right, there is more than one pool, in fact there are three.

The water is so clean and warm

Llano Grande was voted the nicest RV park in the valley last year, and it is easy to see why !!

  3. It was great to read about you folks going to Church today. I a grounded RVer and following a number of RV blogs over the last year have wondered why the Sunday blogs do not say anything about going to Church. We travelled last year to Florida and this spring to the east coast and yes we found and experienced a number of fantastic churches, church services and church lunches.
I hope that you have started something here and that other blog writers share there Sunday Church experiences. We look forward to your next Sundays Church experience.
God Bless and keep you safe

  4. Ran into Faye the other nite at Home Depot where she works. She is gonna come over sometime soon so I can show her how to find your blog on the internet. She says hi and I told her how much fun you guys are having. How much are the monthly rates where you two are camping now? We shall have to check that campground out for sure hopefully next winter. Have a great time. Dale & Cindy
