Magnolia Beach, Texas

Life is a beach !!  We have just finished a couple of days boondocking at Magnolia Beach.

Boondocking or dry camping, means you have no hookups.  No electric, no water, and no sewer.  This is not a problem for a few days, but after that, we need to find a water source, and our rig needs to find a potty as well !!

As you can see in the above photo, you can park close to the Gulf of Mexico.  In addition, you can stay here as long as you want, there is no time limit.

We met some very nice people that have been here for a few weeks, and some, like us, are only here for a short time.  There were folks from Alberta, Ontario, and about 3 rigs from Quebec.  Don't worry, there is plenty of room if you decide to come to the beach.

Oh ya, I am almost embarrassed to say this, but Teresa and I had our best sleep to date.  It gets black dark on the beach, with no light poles, and because we were conserving our battery power, we chose not to have too many lights on.  Well, about 8pm, the yawning started taking over, so we gave up the fight, and crawled into bed.  We slept until 8 o'clock the next morning !!  Yep, that is a solid 12 hours of sleep.

Later in the afternoon, we were relaxing on the beach, and my darling bride spoiled me with this awesome treat, also enjoyed on the beach.

Of course, we had no internet connections, so sorry if we alarmed any of our friends or family.  We just slept in a bit, that's all.

  1. Gotta love dry camping on the beach, so peaceful with the sound of the waves lulling you to sleep.

  4. Darn ! Wished I'd known about that boondocking on the beach when I was there last year. But the RV Park I stayed at was great.

  5. Oh, oh, the secret is out! You have discovered Oak Leaf wine! I was talking to a teller aw Walmart yesterday and she told me that Walmart had set up a blind taste test with Oak Leaf competing against other wines, some in the $12 range. In almost all cases, Oak Leaf was chosen. A very good deal at $3 per bottle and even better at the "Rolled Back" price of $1.97 that we found it at in California!
