We made a bee-line for the Natchez Trace Parkway, so we could complete our tour of it.
But we didn't get too far, before we made a stop at Tupelo, the birth place of Elvis Presley.

It sure didn't take too long to tour this house.....it is only 2 rooms...the bedroom and the kitchen.
The guide went on to say that the family couldn't afford to continue living in this house, and were forced to move in with kin-folk !!
By the way, the tour for this house is a very reasonable 5 bucks each.
They have moved the church where Elvis and his family attended, on to the same grounds as the house. There is also a museum and garden area, all donated by Elvis.
After spending our time at the Elvis Park, we ran out of time, so we are parked up at WalMart for the night.
Tomorrow we are continuing on the Natchez Trace Parkway, with our noses pointed SOUTH !!
SOUTH is the perfect word!!!

ReplyDeleteI guess we'll meet up some where in Texas - funny we are at the same level in the USA both making our way south - we will be north of San Antonio area and then probably the coast.....would be great to get together!
